Beautification Promotion and Community Engagement Intern

We are looking for an intern to manage our litter prevention program. This opportunity includes managing the local Litter Index, coordinating targeted litter control planning sessions and managing community engagement opportunities (including public, private, and civic sectors). You will also engage with and push forward the public sector agenda, as well as manage community outreach and awareness opportunities.

Responsibilities
This role will support proactive measures that reduce the amount of litter. Additionally, you will focus on data collection, neighborhood engagement and strategic resource allocation.  Key responsibilities include:

  • Data analytics to understand littler behavioral patterns
  • Research, draft and edit community engagement materials
  • Write and edit blog posts, press releases, social media content creation and newsletter pieces
  • Support the development of grant evaluation rubrics
  • Support the development of local beautification partner organizational chart

Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Passionate about beautification efforts
  • Experience and knowledge in data analysis and/or GIS or other geographic modeling software

Litter Enforcement and Prevention Intern

We are looking for an intern to manage our litter prevention program including litter clean-up efforts, local public policy enforcement and prevention opportunities. You will engage with and push forward the public sector agenda, as well as coordinate and manage volunteer clean-up efforts.

Responsibilities
This role supports reactive measures that “penalize” littering behavior. It focuses on public policy enforcement mechanisms, as well as managing efforts to pick-up existing litter.Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage volunteer efforts including inventory, distribution process and volunteer coordination
  • Write and edit blog posts, press releases, social media content creation and newsletter pieces
  • Support the development of grant evaluation rubrics
  • Support the development of local beautification partner organization chart

Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Passionate about beautification efforts
  • Experience and knowledge in public policy, public administration or political science; and/or of data analysis and/or GIS or other geographic modeling software
