Park Proud: A day of fun for the whole family

Looking for fun, family-friendly activities to get you and your kids out in the sun? Parish Proud, United Way of Acadiana, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Acadiana, and the Children’s Museum of Acadiana have news for you!

Park Proud is going to be a fun-filled community event with games and activities that are sure to keep the entire family entertained. Attendees can also help spruce up Heymann Park by painting rails and pavilions, raking playground mulch, and, of course, picking up litter!

When: 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. (estimated time), Saturday, May 22, 2021

Who: Organizations, groups, and individuals including Parish Proud, United Way of Acadiana, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Acadiana, and the Children’s Museum of Acadiana.

What: Attendees can participate in fun, family activities, and games, all while sprucing up Heymann Park!

Where: Heymann Park located near Vermilionville (1500 S Orange St, Lafayette, LA 70501) NOT HEYMANN MEMORIAL PARK.

What to bring:

  • Closed-toe shoes
  • Mask (Should be worn at all times when at staging and parking areas)
  • Hat
  • Sunscreen
  • A shirt you won’t mind getting paint on

WHAT WILL BE PROVIDED:

  • Vest
  • Litter grabber
  • Gloves
  • Trash bags
  • Paint
  • Paint Brushes
  • Rakes
  • Shovels
  • Towels

Parish Proud is looking for donations of:

We’re thrilled to hear it! Much like our volunteers, are donors play an essential role in making Parish Proud possible!

If you want to volunteer with Parish Proud you must first sign the Parish Proud waiver. Parish Proud will have copies of the waiver on hand at Heymann Park. Those who just want to participate in the family activities don’t need to sign the waiver.
