LAFAYETTE, LA (September 16, 2021) – Parish Proud – a local, nonprofit that aims to
eliminate litter, encourage beautification, and enhance parish pride – will celebrate their
Lafayette Parish Proclamation with a community clean-up event Sat., Sept. 18, 2021. The event
is being hosted at the Jay and Lionel Hebert Municipal Golf Course and slated to begin at 8 AM
and end at 12 PM with lunch being served at noon.
Parish Proud Ambassador Chris Arceneaux will be in attendance along with UL Women’s
Basketball Team and Coaches. The groups will be leading the community in cleaning the area
and educating them on how to improve the quality of place.
“It’s through partnerships, such as these, we move the needle a little bit closer to the quality of place that Acadiana deserves. This event is the perfect way to educate the public about the
importance of litter mitigation, detrimental impacts on the environment, and to get some extra
steps in on a Saturday” stated Brianne Hendricks, Parish Proud Director.
Individuals and Groups can register to participate using the United Way of Acadiana’s Parish
Proud Sponsored Volunteer Center. The website to register is:
