TWO ACADIANA NONPROFITS NEED COMMUNAL ASSISTANCE

As the holidays near, two Lafayette-based nonprofits are asking the community to join them in accomplishing one goal – to have a cleaner city.

LAFAYETTE, LA – Be thankful for Acadiana by joining Parish Proud and T.R.A.I.L. for a cleanup event the weekend before Thanksgiving.

On Saturday Nov. 20, the two nonprofits will join forces at Acadiana Park to clear trails and mitigate litter on the property. The hope is to brighten the park, but also expose the area to more citizens in Lafayette through beautification and litter mitigation.

“This is a gem to Acadiana – especially because it is so close to I-10. By keeping this park beautiful, we can ensure that visitors, and people who call Acadiana home, will want to visit again and keep the park the way they found it,” commented Brianne Hendricks, Parish Proud Director.

The event is from 9a-12p on Sat. Nov. 20 at Acadiana Park. Lunch and beverages will be provided. Volunteers are asked to register via The United Way of Acadiana’s Volunteer Center through the Parish Proud Website. Their website is parishproud.org.
