About The Board

The Parish Proud Youth Ambassador Board provides high school seniors with the opporutnity to work alongside Parish Proud and its partners on projects that enhance the Lafayette community, making it cleaner, greener, and more vibrant. As Acadiana's only placemaking nonprofit, Parish Proud focuses on fostering a shared responsibility for creating and maintaining public spaces that are inclusive and welcoming. This program empowers young leaders to develop the skills needed to sustain these spaces for generations to come. Research shows that youth engagement in community projects increases school success, reduces risky behaviors, and instills a deep sense of pride and connection to their communities.

Qualifications & Student Commitment

Members are selected from students participating in the Brent Henley Youth Leadership Program & area high schools through a competitive application process.

Applications are open to all students who will be high school seniors in the fall of 2025.
Required to contribute, serve or add value to at least one service project monthly.
Required to participate in two Parish Proud Day events where they will learn about the mechanics of event logistics, project organization and volunteer management.
Required to own and run the CMA's Day of Play event.
Program Commitment: August 1, 2025 - April 30, 2026
