Learning Through Service

Parish Proud is a program that invites both residents and businesses to join in various service projects that can benefit the community in many ways. Through service learning, participants acquire important skills, such as collaboration, teamwork, and altruism. By taking part in Parish Proud’s events, participants cooperate with others to improve public spaces, protect the environment, and cultivate a sense of service and how it can contribute to positive outcomes in the community and the world.

Youth Amassador Board

Our Youth Ambassador Board empowers young leaders to make a meaningful impact in our community through hands-on placemaking projects. By joining the board, youth members gain valuable experience working within a nonprofit organization, developing essential skills such as effective communication, leadership, conflict resolution, teamwork, time and project management, problem-solving, adaptability, quality control, and attention to detail.

Our local media outlets, including television, radio, and digital platforms, are instrumental in shaping public perceptions and behaviors on various social and environmental issues. Through our marketing campaigns, we aim to discourage negative actions, such as littering, and promote positive ones, such as volunteerism and environmental stewardship. We also seek to inform and engage our audience about the challenges and opportunities of collaborating on a shared vision for the development of Acadiana, and how we can build a world where every public space is community powered

Ambassadors will actively participate in initiatives to enhance local shared spaces, contribute to the vision and planning of community events, and engage peers in community education and outreach. This unique opportunity enables young leaders to connect with like-minded peers, make a lasting impact, and build a strong foundation of civic engagement.

Applications will be available on May 1st to students entering their senior year of high school for the following school year.
