This special day is dedicated to making a positive impact on our community by revitalizing and beautifying Carencro High School, Carencro Middle School, and Live Oak Elementary.

Join the Children’s Museum of Acadiana for Our World: Worldwide Day of Play!

On September 28, 2024, from 10 AM to 2 PM, the Children’s Museum of Acadiana, in partnership with the Association of Children’s Museums and Nickelodeon, invites you to a day of fun, learning, and environmental sustainability at Our World: Worldwide Day of Play. 

Explore a variety of eco-friendly indoor and outdoor activities, including an obstacle course by Cajun Slides and a visit to the 2KB petting zoo. Dive into hands-on learning with slime and STEAM stations, and discover sustainability-focused activities hosted by Parish Proud, Lafayette Ready Start, and Macaroni Kid Lafayette. These activities are designed to inspire the next generation of environmental stewards.

Enjoy cold treats from the 7 Kids Ice Cream Truck, and get creative with eco-friendly face painting by Dip and Dabble. Bring your family and friends to celebrate play, sustainability, and community at this exciting event!

Event Overview

Kelon George will be leading a community service project at Girard Park on October 5th from 8 AM to 10 AM as part of his effort to earn his Eagle Scout badge. His tasks include cleaning up the memorial and placing gravel around it, laying gravel around the oak trees in the front parking lot, and pressure washing graffiti off the concrete memorial near the playground.

Join us for a community-driven effort to keep our downtown area clean and beautiful! The Carencro Litter Event will take place on October 5, starting at the Patriots Pavilion behind City Hall. 

Let's come together to make a positive impact on our community. This event is a great opportunity to meet fellow residents, promote environmental stewardship, and show our pride in Carencro. Refreshments will be provided for all volunteers.

Join us for the Broussard Proud Litter Event as we come together to beautify our community! Volunteers will meet at the Broussard City Hall at 8 AM for a brief orientation before heading out to various locations to pick up litter. This family-friendly event is a great opportunity to make a positive impact, meet neighbors, and show your pride in our beautiful town. Refreshments and supplies will be provided. Let's work together to keep Broussard clean and green!
